What is Truth?

What is Truth? This is a big question. One everybody should care about. The implications of misunderstanding truth are huge. Let us start with a definition from the dictionary.

 Merriam-Webster Dictionary Definition #2:
truth noun \'trĂ¼th\
2)
a (1) : the state of being the case : fact (2) : the body of real things, events, and facts : actuality (3) often capitalized : a transcendent fundamental or spiritual reality
b: a judgment, proposition, or idea that is true or accepted as true <truths of thermodynamics>
c: the body of true statements and propositions

One of the key words in this definition is the word "fact". Looking that word up on Merriam-Webster's website reveals a synonym of "reality". The question is then, who's reality defines Truth?

Here is the definition of of Truth as I see it:

Truth is that which matches reality as perceived by God, because only God's perception of reality is undistorted and perfectly clear.

As humans we can seek to find truth, but we do not determine truth. Only God can dictate truth. Therefore, when science reveals some new discovery it is always good to be skeptical, especially if that proposed discovery contradicts God's version of reality. Sometimes scientific discoveries have a way of being found wrong later.

As fallible humans with a finite understand of reality, we must be careful what we accept as absolute Truth. Accepting incorrect truths distorts are view of reality and affects are life drastically.
